This poem has been one of my favorites for quite some time. It is a two part poem titled, "Wife, Woman, Friend" by a talented poet named Dana Gilmore.
When I first discovered the poem about four years ago it took me to a different place. I put myself in the shoes of this "Wife, Woman, Friend" hence the title of the poem. So many women can more than likely relate to this poem and may not realize it until they hear it from the outside looking in. The message I gather from this poem is to never settle for less than YOU are worth. One line that stood out was, "Never put your heart in your mind's position" It's something deep to think about...
